Children & Youth Policies and Procedures

To ensure your child’s safety, please follow QLS policies regarding children/youth:

Facility
  • No Children under the age of 10 allowed on workout floor.
  • Children 10-12 years old must be within 3 ft. of parent at all times while on floor.
  • ACSM guidelines strongly recommends that children ages 10-12 years old do NOT exercise on strength equipment.
  • All youths are required to go through our Youth Start Program with a parent before they are allowed to    exercise. This is for your child’s own safety.
  • Youth ages 13-17 must go through QLS training course before being allowed on floor unsupervised. QLS highly recommends that a parent be close by if your youth is under 18.
  • Proper footwear is required. No open-toed shoes or bare feet allowed.
  • Closed-toe footwear is required for rock-wall climbing.

Pool: We do not have a lifeguard on duty!
  • No one under the age of 13 is allowed in the pool area unsupervised.

QLS Members utilizing The Spa at QLS may take advantage of CAC with same policies as stated above. (Note: A child may not exceed 2-hour visit one time per day).

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY CENTER AND YOUTH-PLEX

• Children three months to 12 years are allowed to visit.

POLICIES:

-Parents must abide by our sick child policies. Children who exhibit symptoms described in our exclusion policy will be asked to leave. The Exclusion of Sick Children policy can be obtained by contacting the Child Center in the club near you.                                                                                                                                                                          - QLS reserves the right to remove or suspend children perceived as an endangerment to themselves or others.                                                                                                                                                                    - Parents are allowed to be in the center with their child/children for a maximum of 10 minutes.                                                                                                                                                                  - QLS reserves the right to limit the usage of designated play spaces.                                                                           -Time-out will be used to address behavioral problems.                                                                                              club.                                                                                                                                                                        - Check-in and check-out require picture identification. The parent who drops the child off must be the one to pick them up                                                                                                                                                                            -No food, candy or gum is allowed in the center.                                                                                                           -Pacifiers and comfort items such as blankets and stuffed animals are permitted and must be labeled.                           -Toys from home are not allowed in the center.                                                                                                        -Socks must be worn in the play area.                                                                                                                      -Bottles are permitted but must be used under supervision. Bottles must be pre-mixed. We will not mix bottles.             Bottles bags and cups must be labeled with child’s first and last name.                                                                      Parents will be called if child cannot be comforted from crying after 15 minutes.                                                         QLS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.                                                                                                        • Children who visit the center more than once per day are limited to a three hour maximum. For example, if mom brings   the child to the center in the morning for two hours, dad can bring the child in the evening for one hour.             • Only parents or legal guardians are allowed to bring children into the Child Center.                                                    • Family members are allowed to bring in nieces, nephews or grandchildren with our Medical Power of Attorney signed by the parents and notarized by a Notary. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.                                                 • QLS reserves the right to suspend center privileges to parents who do not pick up their children on time or who do not pay the appropriate fees.

- Parents are responsible for changing diapers.                                                                                                          

NOTE: Additional fees and restrictions may apply. Please contact the Child Center of the club near you for a complete list of policies and fees. Child Center hours are subject to change.

10-12 YEAR OLDS - Must participate in the Youth Start Program before being allowed to exercise. Parent MUST be present with child. This program consists of Cardiovascular, Stretching and Nutritional Guidance. Weight training at this stage in life could permanently injure your youth’s joints.
*Due to possible damage to growth plates, American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines prohibit youth, ages 10-12 years old, from exercising on any strength equipment.
*Once youth has completed the Youth Start Program, they must be within 3-feet of parent at all times while on workout floor

13-17 YEAR OLDS - Must participate in the Youth Start Program before being allowed to exercise. It is recommended that a parent is present during Youth Start Program. This program consists of Cardiovascular, Light Strength Training, Stretching and Nutritional Guidance. Program activities will be tailored in accordance to age and developmental stage of youth.
